Wonderful Riesling from a great producer with perfumed floral fruit and supremely elegant style.
|
Rheingau
A compact yet intensely cultivated region running along the northern banks of the River Rhine to the south-east of Koblenz and River Main to the east of Mainz. Rheingau Rieslings are full bodied, extremely elegant and long-lived.
All the vineyards are south facing and therefore the vines have optimum exposure to the sun. Riesling grapes often reach levels of ripeness unparalleled in other German regions. Because of the proximity of the vineyards to the rivers, grapes are often affected by noble rot(botrytis) and amazingly rich and complex wines are produced.
