Central Valley
The Chilean Central Valley is the oldest and most traditional wine region. This diverse area has four distinct districts, the Curico Valley, Maipo Valley, Maule Valley and Rapel Valley. Chile has been very successful in growing the well know grape varieties of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Other lesser know grape varieties such as Malbec, Bonarda and Barbera are now being introduced to the international markets.
