Deep ruby in colour with lovely ripe fruits. Fat, rich and opulent with low acidity means this wine can be enjoyed now and through to 2010.

Bordeaux
For centuries this Atlantic coast area has been the benchmark wine-producing region of the world. Wine makers from Australia to Italy, and all points between, have tried to emulate the quality and style of its greatest wines.
Bordeaux has a powerful international identity and the wines range from the sweet whites of Sauternes and Barsac to the finest dry reds.
Bordeaux is not just about the beguiling, high profile names such as Petrus, Haut-Brion and Lafite, so often seen in auction catalogues. The region has a wealth of wines from light, everyday AC Bordeaux, through the Cru Bourgeois wines and the second labels of the fine Cru Classe chateaux, which can be more easily affordable than the famous first growths.
The distinctive soils of the different areas in the region allow for considerable variations in style and blends. On the Right Bank of the Gironde, in villages such as Pomerol and as St-Emilion, the wines are dominated by Merlot, while on the Left Bank, in areas like the Medoc and Graves, the wines are Cabernet Sauvignon dominated and more muscular.

An enjoyable red that works well with a simple joint of roast beef.
